meme-tastic

Memes are truly destroying the internet and the world simultaneously.  If you are on any form of social media, you can always see a wonderfully humorous picture with a clever saying supporting some bull-shit narrative.meme

Apparently, the term “meme” was coined by Richard Dawkins in his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, long before Al Gore created the internet.  I wonder if all those right-loonies posting gun, religious and Obama hate memes, realize this.

Memes are a perfect representation of our current society’s lack of intelligence.  It illustrates perfectly just how minute our attention spans are and how willing we are to believe anything that fits whatever narrative we support.

This is just another ill of living in the age of immediate gratification.  The more technologically advanced we become, the less our minds seem to function.

The wold is becoming “meme-tastic.”  And that’s fucking sad.
