The Freedom to be Stupid

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.” Albert Einstein

I am an American and I would like to know what has happened to my country?

It’s wonderful to be free, but unfortunately, freedom often protects those who are complete fucking morons.

Here are some examples:

Case in point 1: Dumb-Ass North Carolina Rednecks

“Build a great big large fence 50 or 100 miles long. Put all the lesbians in there. Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals. Have that fence electrified so they can’t get out. You know what, in a few years, they’ll die out. You know why? They can’t reproduce,” said Charles Worley, pastor at Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C.

Why won’t any reporter covering this story just say what should be said?

I want to hear someone on live television say, “Excuse me Pastor Worley, do you realize that you are a gigantic jack-ass and you are spitting in the face of evolution with your archaic beliefs and opinions?  Stop hiding behind your Bible, fucking your sisters, do the world a favor and slit your wrists immediately.”

But sadly, no one has the balls to say that for fear of pissing someone off.  It’s ok to piss off assholes.

Case in point 2: Litigation & the absence of personal responsibility

America has become inundated with lawyers and frivolous lawsuits.  Instead of people being held accountable for their actions, there is always a scumbag lawyer ready to profit from absolute stupidity.

I found this list on Yahoo News:

The top ten Most Ridiculous Lawsuits of 2011 are:

*Convict sues couple he kidnapped for not helping him evade police

*Man illegally brings gun into bar, gets injured in a fight, then sues bar for not searching him for a weapon

*Young adults sue mother for sending cards without gifts and playing favorites

*Woman disagrees with store over 80-cent refund, sues for $5 million

*Mom files suit against exclusive preschool over child’s college prospects

*Man suing for age discrimination says judge in his case is too old

*Obese man sues burger joint over tight squeeze in booths

*Woman sues over movie trailer; says not enough driving in “Drive”

*Passenger’s lawsuit says cruise ship went too fast and swayed from side to side

*Mother sues Chuck E. Cheese – says games encourage gambling in children

Case in point 3: Entertainment

“A lot of our entertainment throws into detail the stagnation and illness of how we live today- it’s sad and it’s sick…and it’s profitable.”  Heather Donahue

Millions of Americans waste time watching shows like; Keeping up With the Kardashians, The Bachelor, American Idol, Two and a Half Men, etc.

Millions of Americans listen to Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj, Lil’ Wayne while having no clue who Beethoven, Mozart or Brahms are.

Millions of Americans revolve their lives around watching and spending money on professional sports events and merchandise, while not being able to pay their mortgages.

How we entertain ourselves is a direct reflection of what we want from life.  Unfortunately, most people want to be like Kim Kardashian, Lil’ Wayne and Lebron James.

We are a culture obsessed with wanting what we don’t have and we will go to extreme links to get those wants.

Case in point 4: Military & War

“In war, truth is the first casualty.” Aeschylus

Isn’t it amazing that 18 year-old American men and women who are but babies themselves, join the military and are sent half way across the world to kill dark-skinned people?

Is war really a valid response or answer to today’s global conflicts?  NO, it is not.  The American people are so emotionally dependent, they were easily duped by a president who could barely speak.  Remember all those Weapons of Mass Destruction we didn’t find???  Oops.

As we advance technologically, we seem to regress socially and continue to make horrible global decisions.

If we used half the money we spend on war and used that money to feed the needy children of the world, everyone would be nourished.  But that’s just a pipe dream because the American Ego prohibits people from understanding what compassion really is.

The Freedom to be Stupid:

If we continue regressing into the depths of cultural depravity at such an alarming speed, we will surely erase ourselves from this planet.  We the People are losing our fucking minds.
